Obituary of Colleen J. Mang

Olean- Colleen J. Mang It is with great sorrow that the family of Colleen J. Mang announces her passing from this world to the next. Colleen (Colly), of 320 N 11th Street and formerly of Friendship, left us on January 6, 2022, after succumbing to the coronavirus at Olean General Hospital. Colleen was born on November 19, 1955, in Brockport and was the daughter of Lawrence R. and Naiola N. Fuller Tallman. Having graduated from Livonia High School, Colleen worked for Friendship Central School and Belmont Daycare establishment. Some of Colly's fondest memories were spent babysitting her several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. The numerous friends close to Colly loved playing yahtzee, bingo and card games together. Colleen was an avid collector of bells and owl figurines, and her home was filled with warmth and music from the golden oldies. She is survived by her children Jeanean (Dave) Alvarez, Jennifer (Randy) Edwards, Clair (Autumn) Hiller and Jessica (Brandon) Hiller. Also left behind are her grandchildren Kaleb, Courtney, Nova, Isla and great-grandchildren Evan and Alaina. She is fondly remembered by her siblings Laurence (Carol) Tallman, Jerry (Cheryl) Tallman, Naiola (Jack) Whiteman, Ellie (Kevin) Wilcox, Chip Tallman, Timothy (Sally) Tallman, Steve Tallman, Dennis (Carol) Tallman as well as several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father, siblings Carol Cole, Jean Wallace, Dale Menard, and Terry Tallman. In the words of Colleen Mang " As you get older, it's easier to be positive since you don't have to care what other people think. It's no-one's business if I choose to go to Bingo every weekend or watch Supernatural re-runs all night and then sleep til noon the following day... I am blessed to have lived long enough for my hair to turn gray". We only hope that her words here can inspire us or at least give everyone a laugh. We love you Colly.
