Obituary of Otis W. Walker

Otis W. Walker of 319 North Second Street, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014 shortly after arrival at the Olean General Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Otis was born June 18, 1955 in Hesperia, MI and was a son of Ernest Beverly Spaulding Walker. On Dec. 29, 2005, in Hinsdale, he married Barbara C. Wing, who survives. Otis served in the Army from April 20, 1975 to April 24, 1992, during which time he received several medals including a Bronze Star Medal. He worked as a civilian contractor in Kuwait for about 5 years. Otis came back to the United States to work for Michigan Cable as an underground locator for several years. In 2008, he began working for Dresser Rand, first as a CNC Machinist and then in the Heat Treatment Department. Otis was a member of the NRA and the Olean American Legion. Along with his loving wife, Otis is survived by five children, Justin, Joey, Elliott, Lee and Laranda "Rindy"; many grandchildren and nieces & nephews; four stepchildren, Joseph D. (Judy) Bliss of North Wilkesboro, NC, James R. Bliss of Cananda, Jeremy C. Bliss of Concord, NC, and John T. (Nicole) Bliss of Statesville, NC; and four siblings, Rick (Wendi) Walker of Eaton Rapids, MI, Tim (Shannon) Walker of Bellfield, ND, Toni (Donald) Tarpington of Vallejo, Ca, and Laurenda Sarvar of Elmora, Pa. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, New York 14760.on Thursday Oct. 16, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at which time Funeral Services will be held. The Rev. Terry Jenks, Pastor of the Hinsdale Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial with full military honor's accorded by the Ritual Team of the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892 will be the Cattaraugus County Veteran Field of Honor located in the Mt.
