Obituary of Demetrio Marra

Olean – Demetrio "Dee" Marra "No Caption, Thank You" Demetrio "Dee" Marra, of 2613 Route 16 North, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021, at his home following a lengthy illness. Dee was born on December 24, 1956 in Olean and was a son of the late Antonio and Janet Firkel Marra. He was a very talented chef, artist, and musician. In his youth, Dee worked with his family at Antonio's Villa in Olean. He married and moved to Vermont where he and his then wife, Denise, owned and operated Tristan's at the Mill. Dee later moved to Saratoga Springs where he lived for many years with his nephew, Adam (Rastis) Marra, before returning to Olean to care for his aging parents. Dee was generous, caring, and talented. His sense of humor and big heart shined through everything he did. Dee loved deeply and gave everything he had and more to those he loved, and even those he just met. He had hopes and dreams for the future, but lost his battle with chronic illness and a failing heart. Dee will be deeply missed. Dee is survived by; his daughter, Tristan (Jordan) Marra of New York City; his brother Michael (Carol) Marra of Webster; his sister Ann (Rick) Buffington of Portville; and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much and shared his passion for art, music, and food. Dee was predeceased by, his father, Antonio on Sept. 25, 2011, his mother Janet on August 17, 2020, and his brother, Tony on August 1, 2021. Friends are welcome to attend a Graveside Memorial Service on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany.
