Obituary of Bonnie L. Hess

Olean – Bonnie L. Hess Bonnie L. Hess, of 301 King Street, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family, following a short illness. Bonnie was born on Sept. 15, 1960 in Eldred, PA and was a daughter of Edward and Dorothy Turner Hess. She was formerly married to Robert L. Vaughn, Sr. Bonnie worked as an aid at the Allegany Nursing Home for about 5 years. Then she began working at McCones in Salamanca, Fisher Price, and Highland Plastics. Bonnie drove taxi throughout her life. She drove Napolian, then Silver Bird, and then Southern Tier Taxi Service, before driving for AlleCatt, where she drove for over 20 years, retiring in the fall of 2020. Bonnie was always working 2 jobs. She attended Harvest Field Ministries. Bonnie was formerly a member of bowling and dart leagues, and Polar Bear Swimming. She loved her family and friends, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Bonnie is survived by; 5 children, Scott D. (Sabrina Miller) Vaughn of Hinsdale, Alicia M. (Vontey Johnson) Vaughn of Olean, Jeffrey M. Vaughn and Timothy S. Vaughn both of Hinsdale, and Robert L. Vaughn, Jr. of Olean; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, godchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; her twin sister, Betty G. Grayson of Buckeye, AZ; and her brother, Michael C. (Patty) Smith of Olean. Bonnie was predeceased by; her parents; an infant son, Christopher D. Vaughn on August 29, 1982; her former husband, Robert L Vaughn, Sr. on March 11, 2019; a sister, Mary Ann Hathaway on April 14, 2021; and a niece, Vicky M. Shelley on April 15, 2021. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at which time a Funeral Service will be held. The Rev. Douglas E. Travis, Pastor of Harvest Field Ministries, will officiate.
