Olean – James E. Bowker "Loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather" James E. Bowker of 3095 Route 16 N, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born on August 11, 1951 in Cuba and was a son of Hewing James and Rosemary Speta Bowker. On July 29, 2000 in Hinsdale he married his wife of 20 years Susan M. Kemp, whom he's been with for over 40 years. Jim attended Richburg High School. He worked a number of places including Friendship Dairies and Friendship Foundry before going to work at Clark Brothers in 1973, for 40 years retiring in 2013. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, being in the outdoors, riding four wheelers, but he truly enjoyed spending time with his family especially his son, JJ, and his grandchildren. Most importantly he loved his wife and family. Along with his loving wife, Sue, Jim is survived by; 5 children, James E. (Nikie Burdick) Bowker, Jr. of Hinsdale, Heidi N. Edwards of Oregon, Tammy M. (Tom) Smith, Jessica L. Conn and Bill Jo all of Indiana; 9 grandchildren, including Jeffery, Nicole, Ashley, and James III; 1 great grandson, Luke; 3 sisters Jennie (Donald) Ives of Pittsburgh, Connie Rickerd of Wellsville, and Kathy Slade of Scio; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, an infant son, a brother, Robert E. Bowker, and a sister Bonnie Tarr. As per Jim's wishes, there will be no Public Services at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean. Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to his family in care of his wife Susan Bowker, 3095 Route 16 North, Olean, New York 14760.
