Obituary of Robert L. VanScoter

Portville – Robert L. VanScoter "Loving Father & Grandfather" Robert L. VanScoter of 6 Wellington Drive, passed away Friday April 30, 2021 at the Cuba Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Robert was born on February 24, 1946 in Eldred, PA and was a son of Stanley "Mose" and Orpha "Rosie" Strait VanScoter. On June 24, 1967 in the St. Raphael Church, Eldred, PA he married his wife of 48 years Judith A. Crandell, who predeceased him on November 9, 2015. Robert graduated from Otto Eldred High School. He served in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. Robert worked as a foreman at Clark Brothers for many years, until he moved to Florida in the mid 1980's. He worked for Pompano Beach City from 1986 until he retired in 2008, when he moved back to Portville. Robert enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, and reading. Robert is survived by; 2 daughters, Robin VanScoter of Portville and Kim (Clay) Prentice of Binghamton; a granddaughter, Regan Prentice of Binghamton; a brother, Thomas (Sherry) VanScoter of Eldred; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his loving wife and parents, Robert was predeceased by 4 siblings, Ron VanScoter, Shirley Clark, Bud VanScoter, and Gene VanScoter.
