Obituary of Steven P. Woodbridge

Olean – Steven P. Woodbridge Steven P. Woodbridge, 66, formerly of Tupper Lake, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Olean General Hospital due to complications of sepsis. Steve was born on March 15, 1955 in Tupper Lake and was a son of Robert and Betty Anderson Woodbridge. He was formerly married to Darlene Spoor and Anna Eskenazi. Steve was a 1973 graduate of Tupper Lake High School. He was accepted and attended the Forestry program at Paul Smiths College, later transferring to NCCC where he earned his Associate in Applied Science in Biological Technology. Steve began working as a laboratory technician at Mercy General Hospital in Tupper Lake. He relocated to Stroudsburg, PA and found employment as a lab tech in East Stroudsburg. After becoming parents, Steve and his wife, Anna, moved back to New York and settled in Whitesville, where Steve worked for the Town of Independence in the water department and as the dog warden. Upon the end of his second marriage, Steve moved to Olean, where he was self-employed as a carpenter and helped his friend, Bob Howard, at his funeral home. Steve's love of the outdoors began as a young boy and was fueled by spending time with his grandparents at Grasse River Club in Massawepi, where they were caretakers. Countless hours were spent fishing, swimming, and helping out on the grounds. Steve also enjoyed his time in the Boy Scouts with his brother, Robin, where their father was their Scout Master. Family camping trips lead to many fun times and life-long memories. Steven is survived by; his children, Danny and David Woodbridge both of Olean; a brother, Robin (Ann) Woodbridge of Rutherfordton, NC; 3 sisters, Maureen (Edward) Merrill of Champlain, Paula (David) White of Massena, and Lauree (Joseph) McShea of Heathsville, VA; his aunt, Louann Mason of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many good friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean.
