Obituary of James F. Skinner, Sr.

Olean – James F. Skinner, Sr. "Loving Father, Grandfather, & Brother" James F. Skinner, Sr., of 3222 Route 417 West, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. James was born on December 30, 1964 in Olean and was a son of Roger T. and Dian M. Gross Skinner. He was formerly married to Sherry Bastow. James was a 1984 graduate of Otto-Eldred High School in Pennsylvania. He worked at a number of places including Kamery Meats, Security, as a Taxi Driver, and as a Bookkeeper for S&S Used Cars and D&R Used Cars, before becoming disabled. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. James loved animals, fishing, playing cards, and collecting old cars. James is survived by; his parents, Roger and Dian Skinner of Olean; 3 children, James F. Skinner, Jr. and Frederick J. (Katie) Skinner both of Olean, and Sonyea J. Skinner of Bliss; 4 grandchildren, Marcus W. Skinner, Maddison L. Skinner, Maxwell D. Skinner, and Bella G. Skinner; 2 brothers, Christopher Skinner of Oswego and Joey Skinner of Allegany; a sister, Elisa (Tom) Painter of Portville; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 30 2021 at 6:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1935 Windfall Road, Olean.
