I just learned of Don‘s passing and was saddened by it. I did not know him well but my father did. I went to my first Notre Dame football game with the two of them, along with Nick Amato, in the fall of 1988. After that, I only saw him on a few occasions when visiting family in Olean. My dad liked and respected Don and always had good things to say about him. May he rest in peace.
