Obituary of Linda S. Schmidt

Hinsdale – Linda S. Schmidt "Dedicated Mother, Grandmother, & Sister" Linda S. Schmidt, of 3805 Main Street, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at the Olean General Hospital, following an illness. Linda was born on Sept. 24, 1951 in Olean and was a daughter of Wilfred C. and Phyllis M. Woodruff Eastman. On April 16, 1971 in Albany, she married her husband of 32 years, William J. Schmidt, who predeceased her on October 30, 2003. Linda was a 1969 graduate of Hinsdale Central School, where she was a cheerleader. She worked as a line worker at AVX until her retirement. Linda was a member of the Hinsdale Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the IBEW Local #1690. She enjoyed hunting, playing bingo, and playing on the old volleyball leagues, but she truly loved taking care of her family. Linda is survived by; a son, Douglas C. (Dorenda) Schmidt of Cazenovia; 5 grandchildren, Caleb, Brycce, Gabriyel, Aayden, and Graiycalyn; 2 brothers, Eugene E. Eastman of Hinsdale and Kenneth D. (Joyce) Eastman of Delevan; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her loving husband and parents, Linda was predeceased by, a son, Stephen G. Schmidt and 2 brothers, David C. Eastman on July 26, 2012 and Alton Eastman on October 9, 2008. Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 East State Street, Olean, on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, at which time a Memorial Service will be held.
