Susan Ann Chase, 72, formerly of Olean, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Oxford Health and Rehabilitation Center in Oxford, Mississippi with loved ones present.
Susan was born September 9, 1945,and was the daughter of the late William and Betty Ross of Olean. She graduated from Olean High School in 1963 where she was the Head Majorette for the Olean Huskies and continued to instruct and coach majorettes after graduation. Susan remained an active volunteer in the Olean school district while each of her children attended school. At the age of 45, she enrolled in nursing school at JCC graduating as an RN in 1993. Susan worked at Olean General Hospital until her retirement in 2009.
Susan took great joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in all of their activities and loved spending as much time as possible with each one. She loved to make bracelets and bake cookies for her neighbors and friends. Susan moved to Oxford, Mississippi in 2014, but considered Olean her home.
Susan is survived by 3 daughters, Stefani (Joe) Behun of San Antonio,Texas; Jennifer (Matthew) Mott of Oxford, Mississippi; Kristen (Brian) Dolan of Aberdeen, South Dakota; one son, Jason Swartz of Fredonia; fourteen grandchildren, Nick Behun, Alec Behun, Ellie Behun, Dean Mott, Tacie Mott, Will Mott, Cole Leonard, Hannah Leonard, Major Dolan, Pryor Dolan, Reagan Dolan, Kiera Johnson, Trey Swartz and Rocke Swartz; two sisters, Linda (Bill) Duncan of Buffalo, Janet (Duane) Sherwood of Olean and one brother, David (Kathy) Ross of Kenmore; one niece and one nephew.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
