Obituary of Cecile E. Older

Cuba – Cecile E. Older "Loving Mother & Grandmother" Cecile E. Older, of 4192 B Bolivar Road, formerly of Cuba and Olean, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Jones Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness. Cecile was born on November 21, 1919 in Kane, PA. On June 15, 1940, she married her husband of 51 years, Walter M. Older, who predeceased her on November 27, 1991. Cecile and her husband, Walter, lived in Cuba for most of their lives, where they raise their 3 daughters. They had a small farm for several years. Cecile worked at the Cuba Memorial Hospital as an insurance clerk for 25 years, waited tables at the Skyloft Restaurant on Cuba Lake, and leased and ran Moonwinks Restaurant for several years. People came from all over to have her homemade pies. She was formerly a member of the Cuba First Presbyterian Church. Cecile spent the last years of her life at Manor Hills Assisted Living Center in Wellsville. Cecile enjoyed traveling in the camper to Florida and her wine. She always looked forward to a boat ride on Cuba Lake. Cecile celebrated her 100th birthday on the boat at Cuba Lake. She had a great sense of humor. Cecile loved to dance, going to lunch at the Beef Haus, and taking care of her plants, you would swear she had a green thumb. She was a walker and never drove anywhere if she could walk there. Cecile is survived by; her 3 daughters, Ann M. (Shep) Theim of The Villages, FL, Salley E. (Paul) Pidskalny of Coeur d'Alene, ID, and Sharon L. Campbell of Cuba; 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Shannon, Ryan, Rob, Julie, and Barrie; and several great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
