Olean – Duane F. Boyce "Loving Son, Father, & Grandfather" Duane F. Boyce of 130 North 3rd Street, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020, at Fiddler's Green Manor, following a lengthy illness. Duane was born on July 17, 1947 in Houston, TX and he was a son of Duane J. and D. Frances Fick Boyce. On October 21, 1966, in Guilderland Center, he married his wife of 47 years, Ruth E. Martin, who predeceased him on May 20, 2013. Duane was a 1966 graduate of Guilderland Central School. He enlisted in the US Navy on June 17, 1967 and served until April 27, 1971. Duane reenlisted in the US Navy from 1979 to 1986. He then served in the US Navy Reserves from 1986 to 2006, retiring after 36 years of service. Duane enjoyed fishing, competition shooting, photography, baseball with his grandson, and building snowmen with his granddaughter. Duane is survived by; his mother, Frances Ripley of Olean; 3 children, Patricia E. Scelfo of Virginia Beach, VA, Duane Scott F. Boyce of Jarratt, VA, and Jennifer L.S. (Bryan) Maready of Maple Hill, NC; and 2 grandchildren, Sara L. (Joseph) Ambrose and Hunter J. Maready. Along with his loving wife, Duane was predeceased by his father, Duane J. Boyce and a brother, Dr. C. Bradford Boyce in June of 2020. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11:00 am at Onslow Memorial Park in Jacksonville, NC.
