Marlyn A. Sharp formerly of East Notch Road, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 in the Wellsville Manor Nursing Home following an illness.
Marlyn was born Dec. 1, 1933 in Cuba and was a daughter of John A. and Carmelita Robinson O'Donnell. On June 9, 1965, she married her husband, William A. Sharp, who predeceased her on June 1, 1980.
Marlyn worked at AVX in Olean for 14 years, starting in 1979 and retiring in 1993. She also worked through the Green Thumb program for the Cancer Society, the Belmont Court House, and with the Domestic Violence program in Allegany County. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, going for rides and eating out, watching "Wrastling," and her pet animals. Marlyn truly enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Marlyn is survived by three daughters, Catherine L. Taylor of Belmont, Cheryl (Maurice) Christofferson of Florida, and Lynda A. (Jamie) Stuck of Bolivar; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her loving companion, Joseph Michalak of Richburg; and three sisters, Colleen Plank of Friendship, Sharon (Roger) Baker of Lockport, and Keley (Fred) Watson of San Diego, CA.
Along with her loving husband, Marlyn was predeceased by three children, Jeanette M. Morgan in 2005, Renee E. Thompson in 1999, and H. Keith Taylor in 2005; one sister, Rita Kathleen Campbell on Dec. 28, 2012; and one brother, John R. O'Donnell in 1995.
Friends will be received in Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy. Cuba on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at which time Funeral and Committal Services will be held. The Rev. Robert Beards will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
