Obituary of Antoinette H. Hartman

Olean – Antoinette H. Hartman "Beloved Mother, Grandmother, & Friend" Antoinette H. Hartman, of 715 Main Street, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at her home, following a lengthy illness. Antoinette was born on December 24, 1931 in Northampton, PA and was a daughter of Anthony and Helen Mizgerd Kozero. On January 31, 1953 in Northampton, PA, she married her husband of 32 years, Dr. Ronald E. Hartman, who predeceased her on June 5, 1985. Antoinette was a 1949 graduate of Northampton High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Kutztown State University . She received her Master's Degree in Education from St. Bonaventure University later in her life. Antoinette and her husband, Ronald, moved to Olean in the early 1960's. She worked at BOCES as a substitute teacher and then went to work for the Olean School System. Antoinette taught many subjects through her career, but mainly she was a reading teacher in the middle school for over 20 years, until her retirement in 1997. Antoinette was a member of the St. John's Roman Catholic Church since the early 1960's. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, traveling, including get-aways with her girlfriends, going to the casino, but she truly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Antoinette is survived by; 4 children, Thomas C. (Lorie) Hartman of Edmonton, Canada, Dr. Judithann R. (Dr. Craig Beyler) Hartman of Tracy's Landing, MD, Margaret P. "Peggy" (Dominique Soroka) Hartman of Chesapeake Beach, MD, and Jennifer E. (Robert) Hartman-Gomez of Yorktown Heights; 11 grandchildren, Laurie, David, Michael, Andrew, Matthew, Nicholas, Alexander, Emily, Stephanie, Julia, & Grace; 7 great granchildren; 2 siblings, Margaret (Theodore) Schroeder of Kewadin, MI and Kathleen (Lawrence) Kozero-Ceccarelli of Worthington, OH; and sister-in-law, Agnes Kozero of Whitehall, PA. Along with her loving husband, Antoinette was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Paul Kozero. Friends will be received at the St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 931 North Union Street, Olean, on Monday, July 6, 2020 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, at which time a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held. Burial will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany. Arrangements are complete and are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc.,646 East State Street, Olean.
