I meet Tom when he and I lived in Attica NY.
He was my first friend from the area. We hung out together after school and at a local dinner in Attica called the Sugar Bowl where we played pinball and got involved with the bands of the day,we particularly liked David Bowie and Ziggy Stardust,Alice Cooper and Edgar Winters Band.
I believe I meant Tom at a party and ended up staying at his house.
My Mom left my stepfather and I ended up in Olean,I had lost contact with Tom until one day I was walking down the street and from a distance I recognize the tall lanky figure wearing his father's signature Army jacket...
We were two happy kids to have someone who we knew again.
We spent many, many, happy hours doing what kids do"Nothing" but we were happy to do it together. We were growing up and our attention turned to girls and eventually we spent less time together as that happens to friends. The next thing I heard is that Tom had moved to Florida and that was the last I had heard about him except for the one time I briefly ran into his sister and she told me he was there still.
Until I saw his passing in the newspaper,I was and still am shocked. You know how it is that you always expect to see someone again...
I am very sorry and saddened by this news.
I am so very sorry and saddened for your loss...Tom was such a kind and gentle guy who was quick to smile.
I know his life was what he would of wanted the Love of his family and friends.
Go in Peace Tom...I know that we will meet again.
