Cuba – Arlene A. Gajewski     "Beloved Mother, Grandmother, & Sister"

 

            Arlene A. Gajewski, of 7578 Rawson Road, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at her home following an illness.

 

            Arlene was born on March 10, 1950 in Buffalo and was the daughter of Alfred and Alys White Kacalski.  She married Kenneth M. Menter, who passed away in August of 1973.  On January 14, 1986, in Williamsville, she married Edward F. Gajewski, Jr., who passed away on June 3, 2007.

 

            Arlene was a 1968 graduate of LaSalle High School.  She moved to Farmersville in the summer of 1989 and then to Cuba.  Arlene was a 1994 graduate of Olean Business Institute.  She began working at Olean General Hospital as a Unit Clerk in 1997, retiring after 20 years in 2017.  Arlene formerly attended St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church.

 

            Arlene enjoyed gardening and rides in the country.  She loved cooking and baking for her family and family dinners, but most of all she loved her family and her pets.  Arlene truly enjoyed taking care of them.

 

            Arlene is survived by; 4 children, Joel A. (Danielle) Menter of Buffalo, Alysia J. (Ray) Sears of Rushford, Adam R. (Brandi Babbitt) Gajewski of Belfast, and Sara J. (Patrick McCarthy) of Black Creek; 10 grandchildren, Zane, Noah, Finn, Raymond, Isaiah, Briar, Holden, Autumn, Jacob, and Samantha; 2 siblings, Arnold (Debbie) Kacalski and April Smith both of Buffalo; and several nieces and nephews.

 

            In addition to her husbands, Arlene was predeceased by; a grandson Austin D. Wilcox on June 2, 1999; and 2 brothers, Arthur and Alfred Kacalski.

 

            Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba, on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 931 North Union Street, Olean, on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:00 am.  Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery in Allegany, New York.  Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com.
