Olean - Marjorie E. Schaumleffel
Marjorie E. Schaumleffel, 98, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Schaumleffel was predeceased by her husband Robert Schaumleffel on March 9, 2011.
Mrs. Schaumleffel was active in several organizations. She was a Past President of the Endicott Woman's Club, the Garden Club, the Hospital Auxiliary, a Past Matron of the Order of the Amaranth and the Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Mrs. Schaumleffel was a President of Methodist Women, a member of the Greater Olean Ecumenical Women, member of the Rotary club, a member of the Keystone Chorus, and she was named New York State Woman of the Year by GFWC, Gil Stinger award by Olean Times Herald. She enjoyed music, singing, bridge, walking, and volunteering at the Olean General Hospital and other organizations.
Mrs. Schaumleffel is survived by; her nieces, Sharon Pompeii, Gloria Cetrone, Barbara (George) Cole, Viola Orosz, Frances (Geoff) Swan; adopted family, the Donald Holcomb family; and her adopted daughter Joanne Fernalld.
Mrs. Schaumleffel was predeceased by; her mother and father, Howard and Pearl Wilbur; brothers, Harold, Carl, and Francis Wilbur; and her sister, Marion Steele.
Friends will be received at the Christ United Methodist Church, 633 Linwood Avenue, Olean on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at which time an Eastern Star Funeral Service will be held followed by a Funeral Service. The Rev. Suzanne M. Block, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park in Vestal, New York. Online condolences may be made at www.LetroMcIntoshSpinkFuneralHome.com.
