Joe and I met Elmer and Olive in 1968 in Falls Church,VA when he, Joe and I worked at The TV Workshop. We went bicycling with Elmer and Olive, they on their tandem and Joe and I and our two children on our bikes with kiddie seats attached. We had many suppers in their lovely home and when they moved to Olean we were guest in their home twice. They were the most interesting, sweet, old fashioned couple we knew, totally devoted to each other and their beloved pets.We have kept in touch through the years and Elmer even came to my sister's wedding and camped out in one of his home-made Truck/camper with his "Miss Tippy". There was not much he could not build or fix...a truly unique individual.
Our hearts are saddened by his passing, I loved talking to him by phone several times a year to hear of his exploits (a deer running into his home, maneuvering 7 cars in a 4 car garage, being pulled over by the Olean police while cruising in His vintage police cruiser with light rack..."but officer I didn't have the lights or siren on", taking in a friend who needed home care) what a dear, dear character that we were privileged to call our Friend. Our condolences to his family, Patricia and friends in Olean, May he Rest in Peace. Joe and Jenny Turner

I have fond memories of taking clocks to Mr. Blush as my mother, Patricia Kehoe, thought very highly of him, his integrity and skill in repairing her antique clocks. In later years when I was campaigning and we had a lengthy discussion about government, taxes, and woes of living in New York. I always admired his classic home, too! Prayers to heaven for him.

So sorry to see this today. Always enjoyed talking to him when he would stop by and take care of our grandfather clock. He always had his dog with him.

I first met Mr. Blush when I worked at the SPCA. Before meeting him, I read a memorial in the newspaper to a dog Miss Tippy. As soon as Elmer walked into the shelter, my gut told me he was the one who wrote the memorial. At that time, I had a dog, Starr, sitting at the front desk with me. I introduced the two, felt they were the perfect match, and he must've felt it, too, because he took her home and named her, Miss Starr.
I enjoyed meeting Mr. Blush and hearing his stories. We kept in touch through mail for a while - him sending me a picture of Miss Starr in the dog bed he had made for her. I still have that picture on my mirror.
I'm sorry I lost touch with him. He was a very kind man. I know he is in Heaven enjoying the company of those many pets he lost. God bless you, Mr. Blush!
