Olean - Gary L. Ursoy "Loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather"
Gary L. Ursoy, of 2577 Oregon Road, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Olean General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was born on Oct. 4, 1947 in Buffalo and was a son of Herald and Helen Tillow Ursoy. On Oct. 5, 1985 he married his wife of 33 years, Paula M. Kent, who survives.
Gary was a 1965 graduate of Olean High School. He served in the US Army for 2 tours in Vietnam from Oct. 25, 1966 to Aug. 25, 1969. Gary worked at Cooper Industries for over 25 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Olean American Legion. Gary enjoyed bird watching and was a New York Yankees Fan.
Along with his loving wife, Gary is survived by; 2 children, Christine M. (Bill Bizzaro) Calbi of Olean and Theresa A. Ursoy of Batavia; 6 grandchildren, Ashley (Joshua) Hendryx, and Joshua, Bret, Jordan, Bradley, and Brenton; 2 great grandchildren, Kyla and Kinsley; and 2 siblings, Arlene (Joe) Rado of Allegany and Karl (Kathy) Ursoy of Olean.
Gary was predeceased by a brother, Ronald A. Ursoy on Nov. 14, 2015.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean today, February 15, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at which time Funeral and Committal Services will be held. The Rev. Vicky Hedlund, pastoral care for Olean General Hospital, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olean. Full military honors will be accorded by the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post #892 ritual team.
