Obituary of Winifred L. Ward

Wilkesboro, NC - Winifred L. Ward     "Loving Mother & Grandmother"

            Winifred L. Ward, of 5752 Sparta Road, formerly of North Branch Road in Friendship, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019, following an illness.

            Winifred was born on Aug. 30, 1945 in Cuba and was a daughter of Leonard C. and Lovina J. Whitwood Morsman.  On Aug. 3, 2010 in North Wilkesboro, NC she married Erwin P. Ward, who predeceased her on August 26, 2010.

            Winifred worked at Mackler Industries and then Friendship Foundries for many years.  She then earned her Associate Degree in Licensed Practical Nursing and worked as an LPN at Cuba Memorial Hospital for about 4 years until she became ill.  She was a member of the Friendship Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary as well as the bingo community.  Winifred and Erwin moved to North Wilkesboro in 2005.  She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, playing horseshoes, but most of all she loved her family, taking care of them, and spending time with them.

            Winifred is survived by; 4 children, Bonnie L. Livergood of Chesterfield, SC, Robert L. (Ginny) Snyder, Tammy L. Gilbert, and Christine L. Ward all of North Wilkesboro, NC; 3 stepchildren, Lori A. (Sam) Clarke of Wellsville, Brian L. Ward of Friendship, and Jeff A. Ward of Belfast; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Bessie (Alfred) Morehouse, Shirley Johnson, and Mike Morsman all of Friendship; and many nieces and nephews.

            Along with her loving husband Erwin, Winifred was predeceased by; her parents; 2 son-in-laws, Randall Gilbert and James Livergood; 3 siblings, Katherine Morsman, Patricia Hodge, and Merle Morsman; a brother-in-law, Chuck Johnson; and a sister-in-law Shirley Morsman.

            Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at which time a Funeral and Committal Services will be held.  The Rev. Clara E.
