Cecelia A. Blackmon of 1757 Godfrey Hollow Road, Olean, passed away Thursday (Dec. 25, 2008) in Buffalo General Hospital.
Mrs. Blackmon was born April 28, 1954 in Olean, and was a daughter of James E. and Elizabeth Myers Smith. On July 21, 1975, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, she married her husband, Terry B. Blackmon, who survives.
Mrs. Blackmon was a 1972 graduate of Hinsdale Central School. She also graduated from Olean Business School in 1974 with a degree in secretarial business. Mrs. Blackmon worked in data entry for Cattaraugus County for 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Mrs. Blackmon was a life-long member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She also enjoyed and was known for riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and she enjoyed boating and camping.
Surviving Mrs. Blackmon besides her husband are her mother, Elizabeth A. Smith of Hinsdale; a son, Robert O. Blackmon of Olean; a daughter, Rachael O. Blackmon at home; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Mrs. Blackmon was predeceased by her father, James E. Smith.
Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean, where funeral and committal services will be held Monday (Dec. 29, 2008) at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Derek J. Cheek, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate.
