Cuba - Kathleen A. Champlin "Loving Wife, Sister, & Aunt"
Kathleen A. Champlin of 3104 Drew Circle, passed away on Tuesday Sept. 25, 2018 in the Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Kathleen was born on Dec. 18, 1948 in Olean and was a daughter of Richard and Nina Weatherell McMullen. On March 20, 1971, in Olean, she married her husband of 47 years, Jon L. Champlin, who survives.
Kathleen was a life-long resident of the Olean-Portville Area. She was a 1967 graduate of Portville Central School. She earned her Associates Degree in Lab Technology from SUNY School of Technology at Alfred. Kathleen began working at Strong Memorial Hospital for about a year and then worked at MDS in Olean for 15 years. She worked at Olean Medical Group until her retirement in 2013. Kathleen was a member of the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Concerned Citizen of Cattaraugus County, where she served as treasurer and the Citizens Action Network of Olean.
Kathleen enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, vacationing in Maine, the NY Yankees, a good glass of wine with a good book, but she truly loved spending time with her family.
Along with her loving husband, Kathleen is survived by; 8 siblings, Jeffrey R. McMullen and Maureen E. McMullen both of Cuba, Holly E. Johnson of Portville, John A. McMullen of Olean, Mike J. (Kris) McMullen of Elizabethtown, PA, Peggy S. (Gary Redington) Cradduck and Julie D. (Sam Lemon) Bellamy both of Olean, and Dan R. McMullen of Cape Charles, VA, and many many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Oct 2, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Stephan's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Kim E. Rossi, Rector, will officiate. Burial will be in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville, NY.
