Obituary of Caroline Kay Barber

Caroline Kay Barber of #59 Maple Street, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008 at home following an illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Barber was born on Feb. 26, 1943 in Cuba and was a daughter of Leon & Sarah Elizabeth Burdick Bowker. She married Charles S. Ward who pre-deceased her on Nov. 19, 1983. On July 1, 2000 she married Duane E. Barber who pre-deceased her on Dec. 20, 2007.
Mrs. Barber was a 1961 graduate of Richburg Central School. She worked at a number of locations including the Cuba Memorial Hospital for 12 years and the Kooper Keg Restaurant as a waiter.
Mrs. Barber was a very active member of the Cuba First Baptist Church, the Women's Aux of both the Cuba V.F.W. & the Cuba American Legion where she was a past president and vice president. She enjoyed many thing and could do many things including crafts, dancing, playing uker, being evolved in many community actives and helping others. She truly loved her family time.
Surviving Mrs. Barber are a son, James C. (Sharon) Ward of Cuba; three daughters, Debora K. (Timothy) Frost of Portville, Brenda L. (Ed) Morgan of Olean, and Barbara D. (Matthew) Witt of Rushford; four step sons, Duane E. (Pam) Barber of Black Creek, Don O. (Tina) Barber of Virginia Beach, Va., Douglas E. Barber of Beggs, Oklahoma, and Derren M. (Linda) Barber of Beggs, Oklahoma; a step daughter, Jewel A. Stuck of South Wales; 24 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Larry H. (Judy) Bowker of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Donna M. (Edwin) Ball of Cuba; many nieces & nephews; several aunts & uncles; and special friends include Diane & Bruce Sheldon, Katie Hamilton, Ray & Sharon Perkins and Joyce Beck.
Mrs. Barber was pre-deceased by a sister Sherri L. Wilson on April 7, 2006.
Friends will be received on Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #24 Genesee Pkwy Cuba, where Funeral and Committal Services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. The Rev. Larry A. Poelma, Pastor of the Cuba First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Cuba Cemetery, Cuba, N.Y.
