Olean – Dawn R. Sweeten "Loving Mother, Daughter, & Sister"
Dawn R. Sweeten, of 337 Laurel Avenue, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, following a lengthy illness surrounded by her loved ones.
Dawn was born on Sept. 23, 1970 in Olean and was the daughter of Carl R. and Linda J. Randall Sweeten. She was a 1988 graduate of Portville Central High School. Dawn attended Olean Business Institute and then transferred to Jamestown Community College, where she was studying to become a medical transcriptionist.
Dawn worked at a several local restaurants & businesses including Perkins and Olympia Sports and she worked at JCC in the Nursing office for a time. She enjoyed roller skating when she was younger. Dawn enjoyed traveling (especially to see her brother Scott in Orlando, Fl and her son, Destin, in Columbus, OH), dancing and shopping. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her son, Destin, who was her best friend. She would take long walks with him and loved to watch him jump hurdles and run track & field.
Dawn is survived by; her mother, Linda J. Sweeten of Olean; a son, Destin M. Sweeten of Columbus, OH; a brother, Scott R. Sweeten of Orlando, FL; and a close friend, Sherri Scanlon of Hinsdale.
Dawn was predeceased by her father, Carl R. Sweeten on Aug. 16, 1995 and a brother, Michael J. Sweeten in Aug. of 1992.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at a time and place to be announced. Memorials may be made to the Roswell Park Cancer institute or to the charity of the donor's choice.
