North Java – Scott B. Sillaway "Loving Husband & Son"
Scott B. Sillaway of 2149 Wethersfield Road, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital, following an illness.
Scott was born on April 5, 1971 in Buffalo and was a son of David C. and Elaine E. Roll Sillaway. On Nov. 12, 2016 in North Java, he married his wife Catherine L. Whiple, who survives.
Scott was a 1989 graduate of Park School of Buffalo in Snyder. He graduated from Jamestown Community College with an associates degree and then attended Buffalo State for about a year. Scott worked at his grandparents dairy farm at a young age. Then after college, he worked as a Lab Technician for Kroger Foods in Tennesee and Ohio. In 2002, Scott worked for Tyson/Russer Foods as a Production Supervisor. He drove truck for Schneider Trucking and then Landspan over the road as a team with his father for a number of years.
Scott attended the Tree of life Worship Center in Lancaster. He was a member of the NRA, the American Motorcyclists Association, the "snow rascals" and the "Holland Raiders".
Scott enjoyed camping with his family at Kinzua when he was growing up. As a teenager, he enjoyed racing motocross. Scott was mechanically inclined and was always fixing ATV, four wheelers, snowmobiles, and motorcycles. He loved hunting, boating, swimming, down hill skiing, and water skiing. Scott loved hotrods, especially the 1932 T-Bucket Roadster. He was a handyman working on his home. Scott loved to be in the country, he was "a country man", and was skilled in survival skills. He was very full of life and was a fun loving man with a great sense of humor. Scott was very giving of himself to others.
Along with his loving wife, Scott is survived by; his mother, Elaine E. Sillaway of North Java, 2 stepchildren, Clare C. (Justin Michalak) Ruisi of Depew, and Christopher D. (Lindsey) Ruisi of Coral Springs, Florida; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Scott was predeceased by his father, David C. Sillaway in 2006.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Tree of Life Worship Center, 6090 Broadway St., Lancaster, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Mick Wilcox, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in South Wales Cemetery.
