Cuba – Carol L. Halstead
Carol L. Halstead of 4336 Summit Road, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Strong Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born on Sept. 2, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN and was a daughter of Lester A. and Beulah L. McQueen Dunham. On Dec. 28, 1991 at the First Baptist Church of Cuba, she married her husband of 26 years, David C. Halstead, who survives.
Carol was a 1963 graduate of East Aurora High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Marietta College in 1967. Carol earned a Master's Degree in Education from St. Bonaventure University in 1991. She worked for ACME in Cuba from February of 1974 until 1990. Carol was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba.
Carol enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, and life in general. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist and sang at the church, but she truly loved seeing family.
Along with her loving husband, Carol is survived by; a stepson, Garry G. Halstead and his family of California, 2 siblings, John H. (Patty) Dunham of Pittsford and Patricia A. (Brian) Belden of Winnsboro, SC, a sister-in-law, Jean F. Hayes of Newfane; and she was loved by all of her many nieces and nephews.
Carol was predeceased by her brother, William L. Dunham, in 2008.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cuba on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Lynn Sullivan, Pastor, will officiate.
