Reba E. Steely, of
Reba was born on April 20, 1938 in Canandaigua and was a daughter of Paul Henry and Wilma Stevely Hassler. She married Kenneth J. Moran on September 7, 1957, who was the father of her children, who predeceased her on August 4, 1978 due to a motorcycle accident. She then married Jack Steely, who predeceased her in the early 90's.
Reba worked for Harris Shurfine in Angelica for over 10 years, and then she worked for Sy's Grocery in Arkport for 7 years. She then worked for Sortore's Deli in Friendship, retiring in 2000 after about 10 years. Reba was a hard worker all of her life, including raising her children as a single mother. She was currently a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Canaseraga.
Reba loved playing bingo, crafts including hook rugs, and traveling with her family. She truly loved spending time with her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she would brag about any chance she got. Reba was very proud of all of her family.
Reba is survived by; 6 children, Christine L. (Burt) Young of Friendship, Ricky J. (Pam) Moran of Nunda, Wendy L. (Norman) Ringelberg of Canaseraga, Paula J. (Dwight) Taylor of Lawton, MI, Linda S. (Keith) Borjes of Clackamas, OR, and Daniel P. (Kathy) Moran of Nunda; a stepdaughter; Kathy A. (Scott) Rogers of Hamburg; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert "Bob" Hassler of New Port Richy, FL; many nieces and nephews; and a loving companion, Roy E. Ernst.
Reba was predeceased by her parents and a sister-in-law, Beverly Hassler.
