Obituary of Eric J. Williams

Olean – Eric J. "EJ" Williams     "Loving Mother & Grandmother"

            Eric J. "EJ" Williams, of 125 S. Barry St., passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, at the Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

            Eric was born on June 23, 1949 in Olean and was a daughter of Ellamae Shelley.  She was raised by Paul Avery and Ella Williams.  Eric was formerly married to Thomas F. Kelley.

            Eric served in the US Army from November 14, 1968 to July 15, 1970.  She formerly worked for the Cattaraugus County Nursing Home and the Olean Times Herald.  Eric enjoyed woodworking and collecting a variety of things, including books, CDs, and movies.  She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter, Daisy Mae.

            Eric is survived by; a daughter Melissa S. (Russell Vaughn) Williams of Olean; a granddaughter, Daisy Mae Williams; and an aunt, Eloise M. Bates of Lakeland, FL.

            Eric was predeceased by a loving companion Alice B. Werts on Nov. 18, 2015.

            Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, at which time a Memorial Service will be held.  The Rev. Jon F. Nicholson, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Great Valley, will officiate.  Full military honors will be accorded by the Allegany American Legion, Charles Harbel Post #892 Ritual Team.  Burial will be in the Bath National Cemetery.
