Olean – Dorothy E. Paar

            Dorothy E. Paar, 97, of 119 W. Oak St., passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at her home, following a brief illness.

            Dorothy was born on June 13, 1920 in Springhill Township, PA and was a daughter of Frank W. and Bessie Gaffney Worrell.  On March 6, 1943 at Sacred Heart Church in Lakeworth, FL, she married her husband of 56 years, Carl L. Paar, who predeceased her on Oct. 2, 1999.

            Dorothy was a 1939 graduate of Hamlin High School in PA.  She worked at the former Stravino's Restaurant, and then AVX corporation, retiring in 1986. 

            Dorothy is survived by; 3 sons, Ronald C. (Georgiana) Paar, James F. (Carol) Paar, and Thomas M. (Paula) Paar all of Olean; 7 grandchildren, Pamela (Chad) Stark of Holden, MA, Sean Paar of Olean, Kelly (Duane) Hudgins of Fletcher, NC, James (Corrine) Paar of Safety Harbor, FL, Shannon (Norman) Lockhart of Elgin, OK, Jessica (Ange) Robb of Key West, FL, and Kimberly (Isaac) Gomez of Virginia Beach, VA; 9 great grandchildren, Nathan Paar, Nicole Stark, Cody Hudgins, Chad Paar, Jacob Lockhart, Erin Lockhart, Gabrielle Gomez, and Lydia Gomez; and several nieces and nephews.

            Along with her loving husband, she was predeceased by; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

            A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. John's Roman Catholic Church in the near future at a date and time to be announced.
