Portville – Stanley F. "Skip" Blackmon, Jr. "Loving father, brother, & uncle"
Stanley F. "Skip" Blackmon, Jr., of 1788 A Portville-Obi Road, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at his sister's home, following a brief illness.
Skip was born on Oct. 6, 1957 in Olean and was a son of Stanley F. and Kathryn L. Isaman Blackmon, Sr. He was a 1976 graduate of Hinsdale High School.
Skip lived in a number of states including Texas and California. He moved back to the area in the early 1980's. Skip worked at Standard Electronics and Carpet Town in Olean, CT Appliances in Wellsville, Jamestown Mattress in Olean and Dresser Rand in Wellsville, before going to work at Arvos Ljunstsrom.
Skip loved all of his pets, especially his dog Cleo. He loved his family and was there to take care of his parents before they passed. Skip was an avid Bill Fan and an avid card player, especially Rummy and Euchre.
Skip is survived by; 1 son, Dustin J. Blackmon of Bradford, PA; 1 sister, Ann M. (Stephen) Ide of Bolivar; 1 brother, Randy L. (Melissa) Blackmon of Olean; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; and 1 great nephew.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State Street, Olean on Sunday, February 4, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at which time a Funeral Service will be held. The Rev. Scott Button, Pastoral Care for HomeCare and Hospice, will officiate. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olean.
