Obituary of Kathleen L. Garey

Kathleen L. Garey formerly of Aspen Tower and The Olean Pines Health & Rehabilitation Center passed away Wednesday April 2, 2014 in the Fiddler's Green Manor Nursing Home in Springville. Kay was born on August 6, 1925 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent England. She was the daughter of Sidney V. and Winifred S. Tindall. Kay grew up in England and moved to Olean in the mid 1940's. She moved to Chicago and there until returning to Olean in 1964. She was a waitress at the L'Alcove Restaurant in Olean for over 30th years retiring in 1998. She loved all of her pets & especially her dog Max. Surviving Kay are two daughters, Linda (Larry) Benjamin of Friendship, and Cheryl Taylor of Euless, Texas; five grandchildren, David J. Spring, Daniel J. Spring, Kathy (Ed) Elling, Katrill R. Garey and Ricky G. Spring; many great grandchildren including her great grandson Darian Haight, whom she had a large influence on in his upbringing; and a sister, Alice Tindall of Tunbridge Wells, Kent England. Kay was pre-deceased by her parents; two sisters, Dorothy Battaglia and Clarice Green; and a very special friend Bruce Miller. As per her request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA Rt. 16 N. Olean, NY 14760.
