Penny died unexpectedly in her Olean home on Sunday, August 3, 2014. She was 54. She was born in Buffalo and attended Hinsdale Central High School. She graduated from Alfred State College as a Chef and worked for local restaurants until 1989 when she moved to Summerville, SC. She returned to Olean in 2012 and renovated the family home. She was active in animal rescue causes. She enjoyed music and outdoor festivals, her cherished dog Blue and her many friends. She had a big smile that lit up a room, a smart, strong woman who made a lasting impression on all she met. She will be greatly missed by friends and family. She is survived by her beloved son Robert (Lee Ann) Mesler; grandchildren Trey and Brieanne Patrick, and Harvick Mesler; her mother and stepfather, Marina and Rickey Sharts; and her dearly loved brother, Robert MacDonald of San Jose, CA. Her family and friends will celebrate her life at her home and interment in Summerville, SC will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E.
