Obituary of Francis E. Carroll

Francis 'Fran' Carroll, formerly of Portville and Underwood Manor, Hinsdale entered into heavenly rest on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born January 12, 1939, in Jamestown, he was the son of the late Francis and Lola Carroll.
Fran was a 1957 graduate of Olean High School and served in the Navy from 1958-1960. He resided in the Olean/Portville area for all of his life.
He worked most recently for the American Red Cross in Olean, NY helping displaced families affected by fire.
Fran loved to sing and play guitar. He was a member of several Country Western bands and had a large group of followers who loved to hear him sing.
Surviving are two sons. Ted Seal of Indiana and Roger Carroll of Puerto Rico; two daughters Kimberly Whicker of Indiana and Debbie Carroll of Puerto Rico; three nephews, William (Anita) Prescott of Duke Center, Robert Prescott of Portville, and Jeffrey (Mary) Prescott of Portville; one niece, Joan Prescott of Eldred; and many great and great-great nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one sister, Connie Prescott; three nephews, Francis Prescott, Michael Prescott, and James Prescott Jr.; and one niece. Lou Ann Prescott.
Family will receive friends Monday, February 17, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Duke Center United Methodist Church where a Memorial Service and luncheon will be held following visitation time at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Gary Sheesley will officiate. Burial will be in the Little Valley Rural Cemetery, Little Valley, NY.
