Barbara A. Walsh of 4439 W. Sciota Street, Passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 in the Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born on Nov. 25, 1938 in Wellsville and was a daughter of Rufus and Louise Cowles Guinnip. On Nov. 22, 1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scio she married her loving husband of 56 years James W. Walsh, who survives.
Barbara was a 1957 graduate of Scio Central School. She worked at the Wellsville Key Bank as a loan officer for 22 years retiring in 1991. After retiring from Key Bank she went to work for Jan & Bev's Home care where she will be remembered as a very caring and loving aide.
Barbara was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Scio Fireman's Aux. She love to be outdoors and in the sun planting flowers. Barbara enjoyed playing cards, watching Go Cart Races, but most of all she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and especially her grandchildren.
Surviving Barbara besides her husband are four sons, Michael J. (Terri) Walsh of Scio, Douglas J. (Kimberly) Walsh of Scio, Daniel P. Walsh of Wellsville, and J. Gregory (April) Walsh of Scio; a daughter, Toni Vogel of NC; 14 grandchildren, Jonathan E., Stephanie A., Samantha J., Shauna M., Damien D., Megan E., Daniel P., Dylan J., Payton R., Preston J., Tyler Cornell, Alex, Hailey and Louis Vogel; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Claire (Kathy) Guinnip of Scio; a sister, Leola Perkins of Scio; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was pre-deceased by her parents; four brothers, Merle Cowles, Rufus, Sherman and Glenn Guinnip; and a sister, Doris Boland.
There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba.
