Ronald A. Ursoy, of 312 King St., passed away Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. Ron was born Jan. 14, 1949 in Olean and was a son of Harold "Chick" and Helen Tillow Ursoy. He was formerly married to Linn Ferrio and then Judith Blair. He attended Olean High School and received his GED in 1968. Ron served in the Army from June 14, 1968 to June 14, 1971, where for about two years he was stationed in Alaska. Ron enjoyed bowling, fishing and watching sports especially NASCAR. He worked at Dresser Rand for 30 years until he retired due to illness in 2005. Ron was a member of the Allegany American Legion. He was a quiet man who loved animals and kept to himself but tried to help others by donating his organs for transplant and research. Ron is survived by a sister, Arlene (Joe) Rado of Allegany; and two brothers, Gary (Paula) Ursoy and Karl (Kathy) Ursoy both of Olean. At Ron's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery with his parents.
