Please share a memory of Katrina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Katrina Adams (Schneider) passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at her home, after her battle with breast cancer.
Katrina was born Aug. 31, 1973 in Olean and was the daughter of John C. and April C. Allison Garlow. She was a high school graduate from Silver Creek Central School, where she was also an exchange student to Spain through Spanish Heritage. Katrina graduated from Jamestown Community College, Phi Theta Kappa, in May 2013.
Katrina worked for the Western NY DDSO for several years. She then worked for Dr. A.S. Alwan for 13 years as an office manager. Katrina worked for the John Ash Senior Center for a short time. This was her favorite job and she loved the people and the time spent there. She was also active with the 4-H program with her daughter.
Katrina truly loved life and loved people. She was happiest when she was helping people. Katrina believed in laughter and not tears. She enjoyed life and truly believed every day was a gift that should be celebrated. Katrina's wish for all of you is happiness. Enjoy and appreciate each day with the people you love. She may be gone from the Earth but she will live on in the hearts and memories of her loved ones.
Katrina lost her battle with cancer. She didn't believe all the pink stuff like cancer is a celebration and maybe black would be a more apt color. It is a hard, long, and painful battle, even though Katrina often wore a happy face so people would not see how much it hurt.
Katrina is survived by her beautiful daughter, Allison Adams; her parents, April and John Garlow; her sisters, Jennifer Meyers, Amanda Ambrose, and Ashley Ambrose; her brother, Michael (Susan) Meyers; her nieces, Sara Hanigan and Brielle Barber; her nephew, Brendan Meyers; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM, at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Patricia A. Bancroft, Chaplain for HomeCare and Hospice, will officiate.
