Obituary of Muhummed Ramadhan

Muhummed Ramadhan of Olean, peacefully passed away at his home while surrounded by family on July 30, 2015. He was born July 22, 1946, in Buffalo, NY a son of Obidah and Mary (Patterson) Ramadhan. He was 1 of 12 siblings from West Valley NY. He is a Vietnam War veteran who worked for several years at Republic Steel, Motorola and local construction unions 210 of Buffalo and 621 of Olean. He loved fishing, hunting and entertaining his family and friends. He loved cooking his signature dish of chicken and dumplings and supplying them for gatherings. He never let anyone leave his home with an empty stomach. Survivors of "The Great Muhummed" include 4 sons Beilah (Tara) Ramadhan, Aben (April) Ramadhan, Brian (Ra'chelle) Ramadhan, Derrick (Kait) Shoup all of the Olean area; and 4 daughters Doris Massey of South Carolina, Marcie Shorter of Olean, Jerri Williams of Arkansas and Khaleiah Ramadhan of Olean; One sister Maryama Jackson of West Valley; Three brothers, Allee Ramadhan of Maryland, Abu (Clara) Ramadhan of Salamanca and Thyleb Ramadhan of Olean; Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, partner Laurie Sledge and children; Nathan Sledge, Kristen Sledge-Whitcomb, Jaleesa Sledge. Moe was predeceased by his parents Obidah and Mary Ramadhan; 5 brothers Obidah, Arthmard, Shagahara, Ezaldeen and Nasar; 2 sisters Sahira Moustapha and Zareyfah Ramadhan. His life long partner Ruth Ann Shorter passed away in 2005. Viewing hours will be Saturday (August 1, 2015) 12pm to 1:30pm at the Letro-McIntosh Spink Funeral Home, 646 East State Street Olean. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Mount View Cemetery Olean NY. Moe's brother Allee will conduct prayer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Khaleiah Ramadhan of 317 West Greene St, Olean NY 14760, to help the family offset the funeral expenses.
