Mary A. Pezzimenti of 4115 South Nine Mile Road, formerly of 112 South 19th Street Olean, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 in the Olean General Hospital following an illness. Mary was born April 24, 1933 in Olean and was a daughter of Miles R. and Catherine M. Moonan Williams. She was formerly married to Francis D. Pezzimenti. She was with her life's long companion for 39 years when he passed away on July 3, 2009. Mary graduated from Olean High School in 1950. She began working at ACME in Allegany in 1958 and retired 37 years later from ACME in Cuba on April 30, 1996. Mary was the morning manger (and Grama to all) of the Subway on West State Street in addition to working as the prep cook and cookie baker. Mary was a member of the local Olean Court # 19 Order of the Amaranth where she was a Past Royal Matron and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Compeer and Volunteer through the Mental Health Association, and patent advocate through the Rehabilitation Center. She volunteered at the Olean General Hospital in the Gift Shop and she made Booboo Bears for the children that came into the ER. Mary organized the annual Christmas Party that has been held at one of the Rehabilitation Centers Residences home for the past 25 years. Mary enjoyed crocheting and reading. She was the Caregiver, the Baby sitter, the go to Matriarch of the family, who loved her and will never forget her. Mary is survived by five daughters, Peggy L. (Joseph) Keller of Olean, Judy K. (Rodney Leisle, Sr.) Pezzimenti of Fresno, CA, Vickie M. (Beth Sanders) Pezzimenti of Olean, Catherine I. (Allen) Witruke of Jamestown, and Amy M. (Rick) Knapp of Black Creek; 14 grandchildren, Dr. Christopher Keller, Matthew Keller, Heidi King, Ashley King, Lindsay King, Nicholas Sanders, Alexis Reska, Eric Washburn, Jessica N. Washburn, Ricky Knapp, Zachary Knapp, Brooke Shumway, and Joshua & Aaron Witruke; 13 great grandchildren, Emma, Natalie, Colton, Olivia, Jackson Pezz, Maddyson, Kaleigh, Aiden, Breylen, Nevaeh, Zachary Jr., Lydia, and Adeline; one son-in-law, Robbie King of Allegany; and one brother, Francis "Fran" A. Williams of Olean. Mary was predeceased by her life long companion, Thomas E. Yaudes on July 3, 2009; one brother Miles R. (Kathy) Williams died in 2013; and one great granddaughter, Isabella Alyce Reska. Friends will be received on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday Sept. 17, 2015 at 12:00 noon. The Rev. Douglas Travis, Pastor of the Harvest Field Outreach Center, will officiate. Burial will be in the Veteran Field of Honor in Mt. View Cemetery, Olean. Members of the Order of the Amaranth will hold a memorial service in the Funeral Home Wednesday Evening at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Francis Pezzimenti Scholarship fund in care of the Community Bank located at 3140 West State Road, Olean, NY 14760.
