George M. Nichols, of 100 Jefferson Ave., passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Buffalo General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. George was born Aug. 16, 1942 in Olean and was a son of Michael and Alice Jane Beardsley Nichols. On Aug. 16, 1986 at St. Stephens Church in Olean, he married his wife of 28 years, Melanie E. Follett, who survives. George served in the U.S. Army from March 30, 1964 to March 10, 1967. He worked as a chef at the Chuck Wagon. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Olean on, Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Kim Rossi, Pastor of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, New York 14760. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, #109 South Barry Street, Olean, New York 14760 or to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, #2944 Route 16 N, Olean, New York 14760.
