Obituary of Janice M. Maine

Janice M. Maine of 1080 Hillside Drive, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at the Olean General Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Janice was born on Sep. 23, 1949 in Olean and was a daughter of Stanley and Lucy Lamberton Schwerk. On Feb. 13, 1968, in Olean, she married her husband of 47 years, Floyd E. Maine, II, who survives.
Janice graduated from Portville High School in 1967. She worked at Carol's Diner and then the Holiday Inn for about 10 years. Janice is formerly a member of the Olean Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She bowled on a number of leagues for many years. Janice loved camping and hunting in her younger years, but she truly loved taking care of and raising her family.
Along with her loving husband, Janice is survived by nine children, Floyd E. (Ilie) Maine of Caneadea, Scott A. (Lisa) Maine of Olean, Christopher E. (Patricia) Maine of Allegany, Todd (Gonzalo Perez) Maine of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Bambi S. Maine of Hoboken, GA, Tamila J. Maine of Olean, Robert S. Maine of Fletcher, NC, Terra L. (Quinton) Edgerton of Buffalo, and Betsy M. (Steven) Tuttle of Hinsdale, 33 grandchildren, including Andre A. Maine, whom she raised; 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Teri Kennedy of Salamanca Area.
Janice was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Schwerk, II; and twin grandsons, Daniel Ross & Nicholas William Maine in 1995.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean, Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at which time Funeral Services will be held. The Rev. Charles Maine, Her nephew and Pastor of Epic Church, will officiate.
