Obituary of Anita Louise Lewis

Anita L. Lewis of 25 North Main Street, Apt. 18, formerly of the Long Acres in Allegany, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 in the Olean General Hospital, following a brief illness. Anita was born on Sept. 29, 1946 in Olean and was a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Fraun Whitcher. Anita was a 1964 Graduate of Olean High School. She worked at St. Joseph Nursing home as a Aid for 17 years. Anita then began working the Rehabilitation Center for another 17 years, retiring in 2009. She moved to Portville in 2014. Anita formerly attended Christ United Methodist Church. She loved to walk and watch birds especially Eagles. Anita also was a member of the Olean Community Theater, and she love to dance especially the Jitter Bug. And she will be remembered as an out going person who was proud of her Lebanese heritage. But most of all Anita true love was her family, whom she loved spending time with them and especially her grandchildren. Surviving Anita are three children, Lori A. (Gerald) Hollamby of Olean, Lynn M. (Eddie) Isaman of Cuba, and Lonny W. (Corinne) Lewis of Portville; seven grandchildren, Mindi (Donnie) Aumiller, Kyle (Marisa Burrows) Zink, Timothy Hollamby Kira (Devon Goldsmith) Zink, Ashley (Shane) Rice, Madyson Hollamby and Joshuah Lewis; five great grandchildren, Makenzie, Jayden, Jonathan, Rylee and Makayla; three siblings, Patricia (James) Conner of Olean, Paula Havers of Olean, and Paul (Grace) Whitcher of Franklinville; many many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Mary Ellen Gibson and Judy Bell both of Olean. Anita was pre-deceased by a sister Joan Babcock on April 20, 2011; a very close friend (Like a Sister) JoAnn Sosnowski in 2011; and a brother in law, Danny Havers on July 5, 1987. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., #646 E. State St., Olean on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Christ United Methodist Church. The Rev. Suzanne M. Block, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made by clicking on the button above.
