Kenneth R. Zuver of 310� East Henley St., Olean, died Wednesday (June 4, 2008) at home after a brief illness. He had suffered poor health for several years. Born Dec. 20, 1931 in Coudersport, Pa., he was a son of Arthur and Florence Bozard Zuver. After a brief time living in Cuba, NY, he was a resident of Olean his entire adult life. Mr. Zuver was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1949. In the 1950s, he was employed by the Van der Horst Corp. in Olean. He was a trainer in the art of hard chrome plating and traveled to Chicago and Irving, Texas for Van der Horst as new factories were opened. He later worked at and retired from the West State Hardware. He was predeceased by two brothers: James Zuver of Cuba and Jack Zuver, MIA in Korea and one sister Mrs. Eva (Wilford) Clark of Olean. He is survived by his longtime companion Mrs. Margaret Horning and son, Anthony, of Olean, a lifelong friend, Robert Blaske of Allegany and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. Gifts of flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials can be made to the Interfaith Caregivers of Olean. Arrangements are under direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home Inc., Olean.
