Catherine A. Fraser, of 23 South Shore Road, lost her battle with lung disease on March 8, 2015 in Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital in Florida, while on vacation. Cathy was born on October 6, 1946 in Olean and was a daughter of the late Mark and Frances Fay Griffin. On November 27, 1971, she married William D. (Bill) Fraser at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean. Cathy graduated from Olean High School in 1964 and was a Medical Secretarial Major at Alfred State College. Cathy's initial employment was at St. Francis Hospital and she spent 26 years there, working her way from Ward Clerk to Administrative Assistant with hospital departments reporting to her. She was a risk manager at both Olean Hospitals. After multiple wrist surgeries that caused a disability, Cathy worked for Community Bank, The United Way of Cattaraugus County, and the Cutco Visitors Center. She was the first director of the Olean City's Bartlett House and Museum. Cathy was very proud to be a member of the OHS Class of '64 and served as her class agent multiple times for reunions. She served as a member and officer of the OHS Alumni Association for 19 years. She was currently co-president of the Cuba Cheese Museum. She worked as a volunteer and fundraiser for multiple causes. In retirement, Cathy and Bill travelled to Florida and North Carolina for 3 months a year. She spent hours cross-stitching, blessing relatives and friends with wall hangings, table cloths, towels, bibs, and etc. She also enjoyed parlor games, was super competitive with them and loved to enforce the games rules on other players at the table. She was a voracious reader and a New York Yankee Fan. She loved to go to the Casino and stop for dinner at Moonwinks restaurant. She loved her family and friends. Along with her loving husband, Cathy is survived by her brothers, John and Jim (Debbie) Griffin; her sisters, Mary Jo (Bill) Sliger and Jean (Paul) Abdo; her mother-in-law, Rose Fraser; her sisters-in-law, Janet (Jim) Thompson and Ellen Hewlett; and 13 nieces & nephews in 9 states.
