Shirley Ann Clark passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Shirley was born May 17, 1944 in Olean and was a daughter of the late Stanley Mose and Orpha Rose Strait VanScoter. On Oct. 15 1966, in the First Church of God, she married her husband of 48 years, William L. Clark, who survives.
Shirley graduated from Otto-Eldred High School in 1962. She worked at AVX in Olean for several years and then worked in the Allegany-Limestone School District in the cafeteria for many years until her retirement. Shirley was a member of the Allegany American Legion Post #892 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts, but she truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Along with her loving husband, Bill, Shirley is survived by a daughter, Heather M. Clark of Allegany; a grandson, Jacob N. Crawford; three brothers, Thomas H. (Cherrie) VanScoter of Eldred, PA, Robert L. (Judy) VanScoter of Portville, and Ronald D. (Deb) VanScoter of Derrick City, PA; two sisters-in-law, Anna "Nini" VanScoter of Sun City, AZ, and Margaret "Peg" Johnson of Eldred, PA; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was predeceased by two brothers, Louis "Bud" Van Scoter and Franklin E. "Gene" VanScoter; and a sister, Dolly Rose Marie VanScoter.
Friends will be received at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street Olean, New York 14760, on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at which time a Memorial Service will be held. The Rev. Shawn W. Morris, Youth Pastor at the United Pentecostal Church, will officiate.
