Obituary of Marion Jean Boorom

Marion Jean Adams Boorom of 712 West Henley Street, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at her home following an illness.
Marion was born on Feb. 4, 1925 in Saratoga Springs and was the daughter of Joseph and Eileen Riley Adams. On June 24th 1947 at the Methodist Church in Buffalo, she married her husband of 68 years, Darwin O. "Bud" Boorom, who survives.
Marion graduated from Saratoga Springs High School. During World War II, she worked for the New York Telephone Company. Marion retired as the Payroll Coordinator from Olean General Hospital in 1987. She enjoyed making crocheted afghans and baby sets, ceramics, and gardening. Marion was so grateful for all of her family being close by and being there for both her and her husband, Bud. She always put everyone else first.
Along with her loving husband, Marion is survived by two daughters, Jean E. (Mike) Kessler of Allegany, and Georgia L. (Ron) Bean of Hinsdale; three grandchildren, Laura (Gerald) Keller, Corey Kessler, and Kimberly (Al) Austin; two step grandchildren, Sean and Amy Bean; six great grandchildren, Carissa, Jordan, and Trevor Keller, Kaden and Dilan Kessler, and Lucas Austin; a sister, Alice Izzo of Mechanicville; and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was predeceased by her parents; an infant son, Keith Boorom, who passed away shortly after birth in 1949; two sisters, Geraldine Adams and Ruth Jones; and two brothers, Joseph and Malcolm Adams.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, Sep. 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Allegany First Presbyterian Church, #44 North 3rd Street, Allegany. The Rev. John Woodring, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville.
