Ruthella A. White formerly of Cuba, NY died Sunday Nov. 13, 2011 in The Pines Nursing Home in Olean after a long illness.
She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 20, 1917 a daughter to Matthew D. and Frances August Holden, White.
Miss White was a 1936 graduate of Niagara Falls High School, and was previously employed at Bell Aircraft in Niagara Falls as a material and supply clerk. In 1983 she moved to Cuba to help care for her parents along with her brother and sister. She became employed there as a clerk by Green Thumb @ Dept. of Labor in the Olean office.
Miss White was known as an active member of the DAR of both Niagara Falls and Olean Chapters. Her ancestors date back to the "Mayflower" where "Peregrine", a son of William and Susanna White was born aboard the ship. She was also a member of Olean First Baptist Church, and was former Chairman Election Inspector in Niagara Falls. She was also known for her love of flowers.
Miss White was predeceased by one brother, Matthew Holden White; and one sister, Claris A. White.
At the family's request there will be no visitation or funeral services. Burial will be at North Ridge Cemetery, Lockport, New York. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pfeiffer Nature Center & Foundation, 14 South Main St., Portville, N.Y. 14770
