Vivian M. Stone of 387 Portville-Eldred Road, formerly of Hinsdale, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 in the Absolut at Allegany. Mrs. Stone was born on Oct. 19, 1930 in Great Valley and was a daughter of John H. and Ada Fay Lewis. On Nov. 30, 1948 in Great Valley she married Richard C. Tingue, who pre-deceased her on July 12, 1983. On Sept. 23, 1984 she married The Rev. H. Bruce Stone who survives. Mrs. Stone worked for a number of places including Lockwood Nursing Home in Salamanca, a Children's Home in St. Louis Michigan and Maranatha Villages in Sebring Fl. before returning to the Olean area. She was a very active member of the Maplehurst Baptist Church. She and her husband once attended a Mission Trip to Peru. She loved her church and she loved her family. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Richard C. (Patricia) Tingue of Louisville, Kentucky, and Denny D. Tingue of Hinsdale; two daughters, Diane M. Tingue of Hinsdale, and Kathryn J. (John) Malara of Hinsdale; three stepchildren, Hal (Linda) Stone, Joyce(Bill) Bowdain and Dave (Evelyn) Stone; many grand and great grandchildren; a brother, Adrian (Nancy) Lewis of Mooresville, NC; and a special cousin, Janet Hallidy of Humphrey. Mrs. Stone was pre-deceased by a sister Shirley E. Green. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at which time Funeral and Committal Services will be held. The Rev. Terry L. Yenks, Pastor of the Maplehurst Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Chamberlain Cemetery, Great Valley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Maplehurst Baptist Church 1349 Rt. 446 Hinsdale, NY, 14743 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
