"Our loving son, brother, father and friend" Pauly L. Matya, Jr. of #108 Orange Avenue passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 18, 2011.
Pauly was born on June 30, 1973 in Olean and was a son of Paul L. and Yvonne Ursoy Matya, Sr. He was a 1991 graduate of Arch Bishop Walsh High School.
Pauly worked as a laborer for a number of local businesses in both Olean and Erie, Pa, before moving back to Olean in 2001. He enjoyed art, drawing, singing and playing rap music, and poetry. He was a collector of "Spawn" and "Homer Simpson" figurines. Pauly's true love was his family and especially his two daughters who he truly cherished.
Pauly will be remembered as "a sensitive, loving, artistic and talented person who gave all of himself and anything that he had to his family and friends. His artistic nature showed with his body being the canvas exhibiting the many head-to-toe tattoos that he wore with pride. Pauly was "different" to many of those that didn't know him well.....but was absolutely and unconditionally loved by all that did. He will be forever missed, but will never be forgotten."
In addition to his parents of Olean, Pauly is survived by two daughters, Alina C. & Gabrielle M. Matya; and their mother Toni Fusco all of Olean; one brother, Scott A. (Tirzah) Matya of Allegany; one sister, Tammy L. (Christopher) Rovito of Ft. Pierce, FL; four nieces & nephews, Brittany, Heather, Quinton, and Mckena; and several very special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
