Obituary of Jocelyne M. Khatib

Jocelyne M. Khatib of 326 Front Ave., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 in the Olean General Hospital following a short illness. Jocelyne was born on Feb. 2, 1946 In Orleans, France and was a daughter of Michel R. and Janine Coulon. She married Faisal I. "Sal" Khatib in Oct. 1979 in Hauppauge, Long Island, NY. Jocelyne received am Associates Degree in Physical Therapy in France. She worked as a Physical Therapist in both Trier and Ludwigshaffen Germany. Jocelyne was a volunteer Therapist at the Prince Basma Hospital in Jerusalem, where she meet her husband. She moved to the US in 1976 and lived in Bay Shore, Long Island before moving first to Buffalo in 1990 and then to Salamanca in 1999. Jocelyne worked for a period of time at the St. Elizabeth Motherhouse in Allegany and then most recently Total Senior Care on North Union Street in Olean. Joycelyne was a very talented painter and artist. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry, playing the guitar and listening classical music. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Surviving Jocelyne are her father, Michel I. Meny of Manosque, France; two sons, Ibrahim Khatib of Buffalo, and Omar (Porschell) Khatib of Salamanca; a daughter, Aisha (Waqar) Khatib-Bajwa of Virginia; two grandchildren, Amina Khatib and Ijaz Bajwa; two brothers, Jeanpaul Meny of Salamanca, and Claude (Isabelle) Meny of Toulouse, France; two sisters, Francoise Meny of Angers, France, and Annick Meny of Valderies, France; and two nephews. Jocelyne was pre-deceased by her mother Janine Meny in Sept. 2006. Friends will be received in the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc. #646 E. State Street, Olean on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at which time Funeral Services will be held. The Rev.
